The Destroyit 5009 cross cut shredder is the biggest and baddest of them all. At 85 ½” deep and 67 ½” tall, the 5009 can handle more than 600 sheets of paper at one time through its huge 20” feed opening. With two automatic speed modes, the hardened steel cutting shafts could be turning out shred at a rate of either 24 (Bulk) or 46 (Speed) feet per minute depending on how big of a load the shredder is handling. The cutting shafts are soft metal resistant and can easily take CDs, VHS tapes, hardbound documents and even 3-ring binders. The dual 3-phase motors are rated for continuous operation and its gears are enclosed in a dust-proof space. The mobile shred cart with bag mounting frame allows for easy replacement of the shred bags, each of which can hold up to 70 gallons of shred volume inside. The large shred compartment is also easily accessible through the back of the machine. The control panel features easy-to-use push buttons for forward, stop and reverse, as well as safety lock and key, main switch and emergency stop button. In the event of a paper jam, the feed will automatically reverse and re-fed the materials. Optical symbols also indicate operational status, including paper jam, cabinet door open, or shred bin full and will ultimately lead to the machine’s power automatically cutting off. It is mounted on heavy duty casters and has a thermal switch to prevent against overheating.

The Destroyit 5009 cross cut comes standard with an extra-large feed table that comes standard with conveyor belt and electronically secured safety guard, similar to the “SPS” in other models. In addition, you can purchase the 5009 Modular Conveyor Belt System, an optional accessory that allows the shredded material to be transported to an external container like a Dumpster. This eliminates the need to change or even have shred bags. The modular conveyor is mounted on heavy duty casters and is easily installed and secured with an electric locking system. Additional shred containers can be purchases as well.
