The Destroyit 4605 cross cut shredder is a powerful, high-capacity machine with a relatively small footprint. This monster shredder features a top loading feed hopper for bulky materials, such as crumpled paper. Its quality hardened steel cutting shafts are soft metal resistant and can also handle hardbound documents and CDs. The cutting shafts also come with a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. It also has a standard feed opening for flat paper with a sheet capacity of up to 37 pieces of paper at one time. Its massive 18" throat width produces security level 4 shred at a rate of 40 feet per minute into its 61 gallon shred bag. The mobile shred bin allows for easy and convenient replacement of the disposable shred bags. The 4605 shredder is built with special rotating paddles so that bulky materials are consistently fed into the cutting head.Like all Destroyit shredders, the 4605 cross cut automatically starts and stops via a photo sensor, so energy is never needlessly wasted when the shredder isn't in use. The main switch controls the power and an emergency stop button is easily accessible. In the event of overfeeding, the shredder will automatically reverse and cut off power on its own. Soft-touch control keys enable the shredder to go forward for continuous operation, reverse and stop. Optical indicators show operational status, including overfeed, full shred bag or hopper/cabinet door open, all of which cause the shredder to shut off. The thermal switch also adds protection against overheating. The cabinet is made out of high quality materials and features front-opening doors, heavy-duty caster for mobility and a fold-away feed table for easier shredding. It has a high powered 3 phase motor, rated for continuous operation and neatly enclosed in dust-proof housing.
