The Destroyit 4002 is a level 3 cross cut shredder with tons of features. The impressive “ESM” (Energy Saving Mode) is automatically enabled after 1 hour of inactivity, saving electricity. The automatic start and stop of the shredder is controlled by a photo cell and is quickly shut off should the “SPS” (Safety Protection System) be activated. The SPS features a transparent safety shield covering the feed opening that shuts the machine off when the shield is lifted. In order to prevent messes, the power is also automatically cut off when the shred bag is full or the door is opened.The display of the 4002 is sleek and convenient. The high quality wooden cabinet has metal hinges and is mounted on wheels for mobility. The top controls feature the “Easy Switch,” a rocker switch that allows speedy feed reversal or power cut-off should anything get in the feed opening or a paper jam occur. The Easy Switch also has three LED-lit indicators that light up to show operational status. The cutting shafts are made of high quality hardened steel and effortlessly take staples, credit cards, CDs and paper clips and are guaranteed by the manufacturer for life. The single-phase motor is quiet yet powerful and contained in a secure “twin drive system” with dust-proof gear box housing. A roomy 16” feed opening makes shredding a breeze. The pull-out shred bag is mounted for easy bag replacement and holds an impressive 53 gallons of shred volume.
